about

This album was made between the Fall of 2005 and Summer of 2006. "Best Accessory" was the first song written, around the time I was first discovering Elliott Smith. (hence the cover of "Roman Candle" as well.) It's a rather uneven record because, at the time, part of me wanted to do more traditional guitar songs while still experimenting with electronic styles. The album is song-centric though, which I think is its one strength. Jack Inslee, in particular, was a positive influence during this, recording and mixing "Julie Street" and offering me great feedback. He also showed me how to import samples with Fruity Loops and mix songs in-program, a technique I've used ever since.
